Graduation picture ideas

Writer's picture: Jamie HamiltonJamie Hamilton

Hey yall!

Here are my graduation pictures for those that requested to see them! Nursing school consumes so much of your time that it is often hard to find time to take graduation pictures, plan out the outfits, and pick certain poses that you want to try. I was thankful enough to have a wonderful friend willing to take the time to help me out *shout out to Shelby* LOL! Believe it or not, taking graduation pictures is more than just showing up somewhere and smiling for the camera. && NO, you do not need professional photo's done. If you know someone than great, but if you don't, save your money guys. Iphones work wonders with photography now, just gather a group of your classmates and meet up to take each other's graduation photos.

…….

When you finally reach senior term, you start to get excited since you are so close to the finish line. This is when I recommend taking your graduation pictures. It will motivate you to finish: to look at these pictures & how happy you are in them, to see that stethescope around your neck, to see that RN behind your name & you'll be thankful that you took those pictures early.

When graduation arrives you realize that you truly have accomplished a rough journey of 2 and a half years of your life revolving around 97% strictly nursing school.... You of course need decent graduation pictures to document the journey that you just survived. Plus, your family will all want copies of your professional pictures to brag about how they now have a Registered Nurse in the fam.

Recommendations:

  1. take pictures early in the morning (you want good, natural lighting)

  2. make sure you have an area without a lot of people/easy to access (trust me, its awk having people watch you pose for pictures..even with your bff rooting you on)

  3. look professional, you are taking registered nurse graduate photo's after all.. (try to do something to your hair, wear a nice dress either solid or pattern, or both like I did)

  4. take pictures with your books (weird i know, but most people don't realize all the classes required to become a nurse) - if you do this: BRING a wagon or a stroller, or SOMETHING to place your books in.. We all know how heavy these books can get.

  5. take pictures with your stethescope (we all know how bad ass we feel with a stethescope around our necks)

  6. take pictures in at least 2 different outfits, to make sure that you have at least a few decent photo's that you will love

  7. wear your white coat in the pictures (yes, nurse's wear lab coats.. my school provided us lab coats senior term for clinicals and I loved them. I would recommend taking pictures in yours, it does make the photo's look better in my opinion).

  8. purchase RN letter balloons for your pinning ^ that is when those pictures were taken, right after I was pinned on stage, I actually brought the balloons to the pinning (That was my contribution) I would take pictures with your RN letter balloons, in your white scrubs! I just love those pictures, and looking back it helps me remember how excited I was that day, to finally be pinned as a Nursing School graduate!

  9. smile and be proud of yourself! you've made it this far, that is an amazing accomplishment! these pictures are to celebrate your accomplishments! enjoy it and have fun with it.
